The Friendly Dragon

The day started out like any other. Our hero, a boy named Finn, finished his breakfast with gusto and scrambled outside to play. It was a sunny, crisp morning and the world seemed full of endless possibilities.

As he ventured further from his house and into the woods, Finn stumbled upon an unusual sight. There, nestled between two large pine trees, was an enormous, glistening, egg-like object.

Drawing closer to examine it carefully, Finn discovered the object was a large, scaled egg. He pieced the evidence together quickly – it must be a dragon’s egg! His heart raced at the thought.

Just as he reached out to touch it, the egg began to crack. Finn stepped back, his eyes wide with wonder and a tinge of apprehension. Silently, he watched as a dragon hatchling emerged.

The hatchling was not much bigger than Finn himself. Its scales shimmered, a mixture of various shades of green. It blinked its large, curious eyes at him and then stretched its delicate wings.

Finn was fascinated. He’d always read about dragons – mystical, mighty, and sometimes terrifying creatures. The tiny creature before him seemed a lot less terrifying than what he’d imagined.

The dragon’s gaze was fixed on Finn. They shared a quiet moment, their curious eyes locking onto each other. Finn felt a strange connection with the dragon that he couldn’t define.

The dragon, too young to speak or fly, seemed to understand Finn's friendly intent. It gently nibbled Finn's outstretched fingers, warming up to the human in its presence.

Finn decided to name the dragon Ember, after the deep, flaming orange color of its eyes. Their friendship blossomed from that day onwards, their bond strong and unwavering.

The boy and the dragon spent countless hours together. Finn would bring it food and teach it games, while in return, Ember shared its world with Finn, communicating with looks and nudges.
