The Kindness Paradox

 The Kindness Paradox

In a small town named Serenity lived a young girl, Maya. She was unlike other children of her age. She was known in her school and neighborhood for her kind heart and compassion.

Despite her young age, Maya had a deep understanding of kindness. She believed that kindness was not a choice, but a way of life. She had a simple rule: if you can be anything in this world, be kind!

One day, a new boy named Tom moved into the neighborhood and joined Maya's class. He was withdrawn and always looked sad. The kids in their class, not understanding his quietness, often picked on him.

Maya saw this and it pained her. She decided to befriend Tom and show him kindness, hoping it would make him feel welcomed and loved. She started by offering him a warm and genuine smile.

Soon after, she began to sit with him during lunch breaks. She would talk to him, share jokes, and even her favourite snacks. Tom began to open up, slowly but surely. The change was noticeable.

However, not everyone was happy with this change. Some children felt threatened by Tom's emerging confidence. They increased their taunts, making school a nightmare for Tom.
